We had a portfolio shoot scheduled for two weeks ago that had to be rescheduled due to circumstances beyond everyone control. OK, that happens, no big deal.  The shoot was rescheduled for this past Sunday and we had everything ready including extra help since these things can sometimes get complicated (as well as fun). I hadn't heard from our client for several days, but hadn't thought much of it since they can be rather busy.

Long story short, the date & time came and all we did was wait, no calls, no emails, nothing. (sigh) It happens. At least we all had a good time getting with several other people we had asked over and it turned into quite a party.

OK, lesson learned. I'll be installing a PayPal link on here so that potential clients can place a non-refundable deposit down to hold their time & date slot for a session. If I'm going to be serious about this I need my clients and customers to be serious, too.

No rest for the weary (and cold)! Well the past two weeks have been crazy with having 14 sets of pictures to take with the ladies posing for our Babes with Blades web site's Valentine's page, a commercial shoot, a portrait set for family and 4 sets of pictures for customers who got in on the Sweetheart Photo deal for Valentine's. Add to that the crazy weather we've been having and you can imagine that it's time to take a short break...

...but no, today I've got a totally fun Promotional set to shoot with 5 hard working ladies who tour with local R&B groups and they go by the title of... "The Swagged Out Barbies".

This should be some crazy fun today.

Busy Week As if the shoot last Saturday wasn't enough, this week we're already loaded up with a SteamPunk Jewelry Product Shoot scheduled for tomorrow and at least two Sweetheart Valentine's Package sets later this week.

Gee, and I thought that Christmas time was crazy!

Getting Ready for the Valentine's Romance Sessions All right everyone, here's an update... Valentine's Day is only about a month away and unless you are ready to give that special guy in your life another tie, pair of sox or whatever... let us suggest something we know he'll love. A Romance Portrait of you is always something he can enjoy again and again.

Now, you could have a friend stop over and snap a pic of you and you can take what you get or even stand in front of a mirror and try for something that looks a bit better than half the pictures you see of your friends on sites like MySpace or Facebook... OR... you can make an appointment with us and get a professionally shot and retouched picture of yourself suitable to print and frame or even to "sneak" onto his iPhone or laptop to keep a smile on his face. We are talking a style of portrait that falls into the Glamor / Boudoir category that will be special just for him.

If you are wondering about what to wear, let us suggest anything from a killer cocktail dress to something a bit more daring. Always a favorite is to use one of his dress shirts and ties or even his favorite hat. This makes your portrait yours and yours alone.

Our prices for this are special, too. Our normal rate for a portrait session is $150 for the session, your choice of one picture to be digitally retouched in Photoshop (others available at an extra charge) and a CD containing all the pictures from your session. All this for our Valentine's Package for only $50 if you contact us and book your session within the next 3 weeks.

So what are you waiting for?  T-shirts that say " I (heart) U" to go on sale at Walmart? Do something really special this year and get a Romance Portrait from the people who know romance at the Rose & Dagger Studio!

New Blog Feature is in. Looks like our "Webstress" has got our new Blog Feature installed here on Rose & Dagger. This will help us keep in touch with everyone about upcoming session themes like a Romantic Holiday shoot in front of the fireplace and one for Valentine's.

Model Mayhem All right... I give! Several friends have for some time now been suggesting I open an account on the site known as Model Mayhem, a place for professional models, photographers, Photoshop and makeup artists to list themselves. Well I've started the process, which requires you to send in copies of your work to be evaluated (to make sure you know what you're doing) before they OK your membership. It will be a few more days before I know if I meet their expectations and if I do I'll then decide if I want the free listing (which only allows you to only post ten pictures or upgrade to the $6 a month membership that allows more pictures to be posted as well as additional features. I'll let you know.
